On Sunday morning, around 5am, my friend, mentor, confidante, and fellow folklorist, Polly Stewart, passed away. She had a carcinoid tumor surrounding her liver. And in her last days, she had contracted C-diff. She was 69 years old. She was amazing, brilliant, full of life, gentle, kind, confidant, committed, and she was an excellent musician and teacher.
I loved her - and I will miss her deeply.
